Event Overview

In the dynamic landscape of Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure development, the demand for robust and interconnected transportation networks has reached unprecedented heights. As the Kingdom strives for economic diversification and urban expansion, the government has taken bold initiatives to invest in the enhancement of roads, bridges, and tunnels. These initiatives not only aim to meet the immediate needs of the growing population but also align with the long-term vision for a sustainable and efficient transportation infrastructure.

However, the journey towards a seamlessly connected and modern infrastructure is not without its challenges. Paving roads, building tunnels, and erecting bridges present unique obstacles, ranging from geological considerations to environmental impacts. The demand for innovation in construction techniques, materials, and technology is more pressing than ever. Addressing these challenges requires a collaborative effort from industry professionals, engineers, and experts who can envision and implement solutions that stand the test of time.

It is against this backdrop that the Saudi Roads, Bridges, and Tunnels Conference emerges as a pivotal event on May 2627, 2024, at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This conference serves as a beacon of knowledge and collaboration, bringing together a diverse array of professionals, government officials, and industry leaders. Our aim is to create a platform where the brightest minds converge to discuss, dissect, and deliberate on the challenges facing road construction, bridge engineering, and tunnel development in the Kingdom.

The event is not just a forum for highlighting obstacles; it is a call to action, inviting experts with futuristic thinking to present innovative solutions. Through keynote speeches, panel discussions, and interactive sessions, the conference will explore cutting-edge technologies, sustainable practices, and visionary approaches that will shape the future of Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure. Join us in Jeddah to be part of this transformative dialogue, where ideas evolve, partnerships are forged, and a roadmap for the future is charted in the realm of roads, bridges, and tunnels.

Market Drivers

Government Initiatives

$1.25 trillion is the value of the budget allocated to Saudi Arabia’s real estate and infrastructure projects as of early 2024

As announced in mid-2023, 4,500 km of modern roads will be built across the kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Mega Projects

SR1.2 billion ($311 million) contract to construct a network of road tunnels, ramps and a major bridge deck leading to Diriyah Square, Saudi Arabia’s new commercial heart, was awarded end of 2022. The project is set to be completed by end of 2024.

An estimated $500m roads, utilities and tunnels (RUT) package is being prepared to be awarded for Qiddiya entertainment city development in the first quarter of 2024.

26,500km2 is the coverage area of the tunnelling contracts awarded for Saudi Arabia’s new city, the Neom economic zone. The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2025.

Two contracts have been awarded for the construction by drilling and blasting of 28km of tunnels through rock to accommodate high-speed passenger services and freight trains in Neom.

Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services of Saudi Arabia announced in mid-2023 its plans to tender 4 highway PPP projects:
