    Mr. Kurt Azarbarzin

    Kurt Azarbarzin is a 39-year medtech industry veteran, having led the development of over 90 new products representing over $910 million of annual sales at companies including U.S. Surgical, Tyco Healthcare (now Medtronic), Spine Wave, Respimetrix, SurgiQuest, Verb Surgical, and J&J. He has experience in the surgical, robotic, cardiovascular, interventional, orthopedic and urological markets. Kurt founded SurgiQuest in 2005 and sold it to CONMED, whose lead technology AirSeal became the standard of care for advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery. He then became CEO of Verb Surgical (a joint venture between Google and J&J) consisting of over 550 employees, that was acquired by J&J in January 2020. After that, Kurt became and is currently the CEO of EndoQuest Robotics, which is developing the first endoluminal robotic surgical platform in the world, designed to enable scar-free surgery through the body’s natural orifices.

    Dr Santiago Horgan

    Dr. Horgan, is an internationally recognized expert in esophageal disease, weight-loss surgery, minimally invasive surgery and new technologies and approaches for surgery. He performs a variety of weight-loss procedures including gastric sleeve, gastric plication, gastric bypass, and revisional weight-loss surgeries. He is skilled in the use of surgical robotics and is also a pioneer in the field of natural orifice translumenal endoscopic surgery (NOTES), in which surgical instruments are passed through a natural orifice such as the mouth to reach the desired organ. As the director of the Center for the Future of Surgery at UC San Diego School of Medicine, Dr. Horgan is working with colleagues to investigate, develop, test and teach procedures that are revolutionizing the field of surgery. Dr. Horgan trains surgeons during their fellowship as well as established surgeons from medical centers across the country on minimally invasive surgical techniques.

    Dr. Todd Wilson

    Dr. Wilson is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas in Houston where he focuses on the practice, training and innovation of robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures and surgeries. He has numerous publications and participated in many FDA IDE trials and is the Chief Medical Officer at EndoQuest Robotics. Dr. Todd graduated from the United States Naval Academy and then served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the Navy for six years. He left the Navy as one of the highest decorated officers in his year group to pursue a career in medicine. He attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (now McGovern Medical School) and then continued at the same school for both his residency in General Surgery and then fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery.

    Dr. Nadine Hachach-Haram

    Dr. Hachach-Haram is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Proximie, Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Director of Clinical Innovation & Strategic Partnerships at Guy’s + St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK. Growing up in post-war Lebanon was a formative experience, shaping her future career not just as a surgeon, but as an entrepreneur. Her initial motivation to help people grew into a wider goal to help bring safe surgery to the world. She created Proximie – a software platform that captures data and generates new insights to improve patient outcomes and OR productivity. Dr. Hachach- Haram is the recipient of the British Empire Medal in the 2018 Queen’s Birthday Honours, and has been selected as an NHS Clinical Entrepreneur, and an Endeavor Entrepreneur. She is also a member of the Royal College of Surgeons’ Commission on the Future of Surgery, consisting of some of the UK’s leading doctors, engineers, data experts, managers, and patient representatives, with the objective to investigate the advances that will transform surgery over the next 20 years, and is faculty at Singularity, and Exponential Medicine.

    Dr Ricardo Estape

    Director, HCA Florida Institute for Gynecologic Oncology, Miami, USA

    Dr. Estape has practiced in the South Florida area for over 20 years and was past director of the gynecologic oncology site group at the University of Miami Sylvester Cancer Center. Dr. Estape is also the Founder and past director of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the Miami Cancer Institute and has started and headed up multiple robotic programs at South Miami Hospital, Baptist Health South Florida, Larkin Hospital and now in the HCA system throughout South Florida. He is a pioneer in robotic surgery practicing since 2004 and has performed more robotic gynecologic procedures than any other surgeon in the world, standing at currently over 8000 cases as primary surgeon and many more as the teaching surgeon. Dr. Estape has worked with multiple companies to develop robotic platforms including multi-port robotics, single site robotics, endoluminal robotics and now transvaginal robotics as well, he continues to be a Pioneer in novel robotics and minimally invasive surgery.

    Dr. Mudhar Hassan

    Dr. Hassan is an expert endourologist and robotic surgeon, with over 16 years experience, concentrating on prostate cancer, renal tumors, upper urinary tract tumors, reconstructive urology and, renal stones. Dr. Hassan has worked at Karolinska University Hospital, Danderyd University Hospital and Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. He graduated from the College of Medicine at Baghdad University and completed his urological training at Karolinska University Hospital. Dr. Hassan was the Head of the Department of Urology at Danderyd Hospital and Karolinska Institute between 2012 and 2017.

    Dr. Hany Atalah

    Dr. Atalah is currently the director of Robotic Surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation, in Doha, Qatar where he oversees the launching and training of junior and senior faculties. There are currently 6 robotics platforms, of which 5 are for clinical use and one for training. Dr. Atalah started his Robotic experience in 2005 in Baltimore, then in 2008 he moved to the University of Florida where he was a Director for Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery. In 2011 Dr Atalah moved to Macon Georgia where he served as the Director of Robotic Surgery at HCA hospital. In 2016 Dr. Atalah Joined Mercer Medical School as Professor of Robotic Surgery. He has authored many publications and wrote contributed chapters in academic manuals focused on Robotic Surgery.

    Dr. Rabii Madi

    Dr. Madi is a Urologic Oncologist with 15 years of academic and clinical experience in Urologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is currently serving as the Director of Urology and Robotic Surgery at Clemenceau Medical Center-Dubai. In the USA, he was the director of robotic surgery at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland before moving to Georgia and heading the Urologic Oncology and Robotic Surgery programs at Augusta University Health for 9 years. Dr. Madi is among the most experienced robotic surgeons in the USA. He has performed more than 2,200 robotic surgeries and has more than 50 peer- reviewed publications and 120 presentations in national and international meetings. He has pioneered new techniques and approaches in urologic oncology and robotic surgery.

    Dr. Abdullah Al Ansari

    Dr. Al Ansari is currently the Chief Medical Officer and Chairman of surgery at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), Associate Dean for Clinical Medicine and Weill Cornell Medical School-Qatar. He is the pioneer of robotic surgery in Qatar. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and is a fellow of both RCSI and Edinburgh and completed the New and Emerging Academic leadership course (NEAL) in Toronto. Dr. Al Ansari is very passionate about health service in Qatar, and has an ambition for HMC in Qatar to be the best health system internationally. He continues his research in the form of publications and conducting animal labs and workshops and conferences. His special interests include teaching younger surgeons and mentoring them in their training.

    Amit Hazan

    Amit Hazan is a former Wall Street equity research analyst covering the medical technology sector for nearly 23 years. Mr. Hazan was most recently a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where he was head of the medical technology equity research team.     Dr. Jonathan Lee Conroy

    Jon Conroy is an established Orthopaedic Surgeon from the UK. He has vast experience of treating complex Hip and Knee conditions. He was recruited to Healthpoint Hospital to introduce Mako Robotic Hip and Knee surgery to the region. His experience in Robotic Assisted surgery stretches back 10 years. The first surgeon in England North of London to have a Mako robot he has personally performed around 1,000 robotic cases (the 3rd highest number of surgeries in the UK) before moving to Abu Dhabi in 2022. Jon has performed the first Mako robotic assisted Uni-Compartment Knee Replacement and Total Hip Replacement in the Middle East and the first Mako robotic Total Knee Replacement in the United Arab Emirates. Since 2017 he has certified many senior surgeons across the Middle East, Asia and Europe in his role as a Mako instructor. He continues to be actively involved in teaching robotics. He takes international referrals from across the globe.

    Dr. Sean Lavin

    Dr. Lavin is the founder of Alpha Lavin Advisors, a firm focused on helping medical technology, diagnostic, and digital health companies access capital in a cost effective and time sensitive manner. The firm also provides M&A or other strategic advice. Previously, Dr. Lavin began his career as an equity research analyst at Oppenheimer and Co in 2006, then transitioned to Lazard Capital Markets, before helping build the healthcare group at BTIG. Over the past 16 years, Sean has supplied some of the most sought after research ideas and advice on medical devices and diagnostics to approximately 1000 institutional investment funds.     Frederic H. Moll, M.D. is widely recognized as the pioneer of surgical robotics, having founded Intuitive Surgical in 1995. In the past 3 decades, Dr Moll has created a number of medical robotics companies, most recently Auris Health, sold to JnJ in 2019. Currently Dr Moll serves as the Chief Development Officer of Johnson & Johnson’s Medical Device Group. Dr. Moll is a director of a number of leading healthcare companies including Shockwave Medical, Procept BioRobotics and Reflexion. He is a general partner of Sonder Capital and a senior advisor to JPMorgan’s newly formed Healthcare Venture Fund. Dr. Moll earned an M.D. from the University of Washington School of Medicine, an M.S. degree from Stanford University, and a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley
